Seasons Greetings 2018 at the United States Botanic Gardens

Trains have always brought people together. They brought our nation together in the historic meeting of the transcontinental railroad. They allowed us to travel long distances quicker than we had before, allowing families that lived far apart to meet more often.

Trains also bring people together each year at the United States Botanic Garden. It isn’t the biggest train display, or exhibit in general, but it’s unique and a tradition for our family. Where else can you see Thomas the Steam Engine chuffing around historical landmarks from around the country, sometimes the globe? Or see intricate miniature versions of amazing buildings, made entirely from botanical materials?

Dinosaur train station

That’s why train stations is an especially fitting theme for this year’s display. You can see Grand Central Station from New York, Lahaina Station from Hawaii, and DC’s own Union Station, all in one room. Along with more fantastical displays like Santa’s workshop and Dino Station for the younger generation. Seasons Greenings  has something for everyone.

Grand Central Station

Big and small, famous or humble, the trains and stations in the display bring together people of all ages, ethnicities, and social backgrounds. From around the country to around the world. Visit, watch your kids eyes light up, and take in the wonder at this year’s Seasons Greenings.
