Laying Flowers at Arlington National Cemetery: A Unique Memorial Day Opportunity

You, too, can lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier this Memorial Day.

Arlington National Cemetery is a special place to visit on Memorial Day. Over 400,000 people from every American war are laid to rest here.

Our nation’s most prominent cemetery honors the war dead in many ways, from funerals to public ceremonies.

This weekend, you can partake in a special honor at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. For one day, everyday people like you and me can lay flowers at the most significant sight in the cemetery, something usually reserved for special people on special occasions.

The cemetery provides flowers. All you have to do is show up.

It’s a wonderful way to honor the men who have sacrificed their lives for our country with your children. After laying flowers, take time to visit the welcome center to learn more about the history of our nation’s most iconic cemetery.

This opportunity is only on Sunday, May 26, from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Security is tight, and parking is limited, so come early.

We appreciated the opportunity to lay Flowers of Remembrance two years ago and recommend it to you.
