Since then, it&#8217;s become a symbol of patriotism and freedom worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In honor of Flag Day, here are three places you can see flags on display at the American History Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) Flag Hall<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Mall entrance on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> floor takes you right into the flag hall, where an art piece representing the stars and stripes hangs above the entrance to the Star Spangled Banner. It&#8217;s a popular photo spot and an eye-catching entrance to the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"569\" src=\"https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/4596565086_f5725a7f9e_c.jpg\" alt=\"Star Spangled Banner\" class=\"wp-image-1009\" style=\"width:739px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/4596565086_f5725a7f9e_c.jpg 800w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/4596565086_f5725a7f9e_c-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/4596565086_f5725a7f9e_c-768x546.jpg 768w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/4596565086_f5725a7f9e_c-370x263.jpg 370w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/4596565086_f5725a7f9e_c-410x292.jpg 410w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) The Star Spangled Banner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you come from the Mall entrance, the Star Spangled Banner exhibit is the first one you see. Inside the dim room, you can view the original flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write our national anthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) State Flags<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Around the promenade around the museum, you can see ever state flag on display. It&#8217;ll help them look closer at the exhibits and have fun while at the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The American History Museum is open 10-5:30 year round.
