The mosaic spells out \u201cGod Jesus Christ\u201d, which confirms the early church&#8217;s belief in the divinity of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"753\" src=\"https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PXL_20250401_173952690-1.jpg\" alt=\"Mosaic overview\" class=\"wp-image-1259\" style=\"width:726px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PXL_20250401_173952690-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PXL_20250401_173952690-1-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PXL_20250401_173952690-1-768x578.jpg 768w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PXL_20250401_173952690-1-370x279.jpg 370w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PXL_20250401_173952690-1-840x633.jpg 840w, https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PXL_20250401_173952690-1-410x309.jpg 410w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mosaic is on loan from the Israel Antiques Authority, which conserved it earlier this year.
