Its goal is to showcase American handicrafts dating back to the mid-19th century through today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s a little something for everyone here. Quilts, furniture, pottery, clothing, and even a literal mountain of preserves. They&#8217;re opportunities for people to showcase their skills and earn prizes for everything from raising animals to growing crops to baking pies to sewing quilts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"The Saturday Evening Post History Minute: The State Fair\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0tdOVJfBIPs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Families with kids will especially enjoy this exhibit. You can explore the different <a href=\"https:\/\/whattoseeinwashingtondc.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/19\/making-a-statement-american-indian-museum\/\">handicrafts <\/a>and look for items from your state. It might just inspire them to try a new skill that they can enter in your local county fair when fall rolls around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the way out, make sure to pick up one of the free souvenir postcards available at the information desk.
