With Artemis reviving public interest in our return to the moon, will it also drive attention back to the marvel that was the Apollo program?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can remember the success of Apollo 8 at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum<\/a> here in Washington, DC. It was our first deep space mission to the moon and back that we’re reliving today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Frank Borman, Bill Anders, and Jim Lowell’s deaths in 2023, 2024, and 2025, it’s a fitting tribute to be recreating their accomplishment of orbiting the moon in 2026. It feels like only an incremental step after 58 years rather than a leap forward, but it’s a start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
