Two blocks from the Museum of the Bible, the NASA Headquarters DC is located inside a nondescript building.
If you venture into the lobby, you’ll find a small visitor gallery and exhibits.

Just inside the door is an Apollo A71 suit photo op. Next to it is a touchable slice of moon rock from the Apollo 17 mission. Further on, there’s an interactive light projection show of the USA that has a 2001: A Space Odyssey vibe.
No passes needed, no security check to go through, and no crowds. While you’re here, browse their gift shop for all your NASA-branded swag and merch.

For a cheaper outing, there’s a bookshelf with free NASA publications you can help yourself to.
The whole stress-free experience will take only 15-20 minutes. It’s a great stop to add on before or after your Air and Space visit (which is only three blocks away).
