Tomorrow, April 18th, is Shakespeare’s birthday. To celebrate the occasion, head down to the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC.
Doors open at eleven am. It’s completely free, so all you have to do is show up.
Highlights of the day include:
- Stage combat demonstrations at 12 and 2
- Shakespearean costumes and face painting
- Try writing with a quill pen
- Sing “Happy Birthday” at 3:30, followed by cupcakes
It’s a fun way to introduce your family to the treasures of the Folger Shakespeare. The building is conveniently located just behind the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court, with Saturday’s perfect spring weather to boot.
